Japamala Resort and Spa Hotel Tioman Island, Malaysia

This exclusive boutique resort is hidden amidst 11 acres of lush tropical rainforest, just a short speedboat ride away from the small Tioman Island airport. The 16 chalets and villas which are dotted around the jungle are perfect for those looking for privacy, seclusion and a completely restful holiday. All the rooms which are beautifully designed in a traditional, yet luxurious style are eco friendly with air conditioning, ensuite shower, TV, DVD, mini bar and coffee making facilities and mini bar.

The Tree Top chalets are situated up in the forest canopy of the jungle, whilst the Sea Cliff chalets have views over the secluded beach below. The Sarang Villas are larger with a lounge and upstairs reading loft, and indoor rainforest shower. Some also have an out door Jacuzzi. Resort facilities include the Tamarind Terrace, a contemporary Asia - influenced restaurant which resembles its two award winning sister restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, regular beach barbecues, a small swimming pool and the Spaya Spa. Some guests are content to do absolutely nothing at the resort but for the more active there is jungle trekking, diving, snorkeling and rock climbing. The combination of luxurious accommodation and fine dining make Japamala a wonderful place to get away from it all without for-going the finer things in life. The resort is not recommended for anyone with walking difficulties or small children.
