Suggested tour seeing the best of Borneo

Day 1 Depart U.K.

Day 2 Arrive Kuala Lumpur, 3 nights at Ritz Carlton Hotel on bed/breakfast basis.

Day 3 Half day city tour.

Day 4 Day free for shopping or exploring the city.

Day 5 After breakfast depart by air to Kutching. 2 nights at Hilton Hotel on a dinner/bed/breakfast basis

Day 6 Half day city tour.

Day 7 After breakfast depart for the shores of Batang Ai Lake where you you will stay in the Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. The journey takes aprox 4 hours and on route you will visit a Chinese farm to see how pepper and cocoa is grown. Lunch is taken at Latchau village.

Day 8 After breakfast visit an Iban longhouse by boat where you will receive a warm welcome, given a blowpipe demonstration and have lunch. Afterwards take a guided jungle walk. Return to hotel for dinner.

Day 9 After breakfast depart the resort by boat followed by road transfer to airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu. Stay in Shangri-La`Rasa Ria resort on bed and breakfast basis for 2 nights.

Day 10 Day at leisure.

Day 11 Early flight to Sandakan. On arrival take boat to Libaran Island for a guided village walk followed by lunch. Afterwards transfer to Turtle Island by speedboat, check into your chalet (basic accommodation) and then have free time to swim, snorkel or relax. After dinner watch the turtles come a shore and lay their eggs and see the baby turtles going into the sea.

Day 12 Early start Libaran Island and on to Sandikan. Take a 3 hour drive to the Gomantong Caves. Continue on to Kinabatangan River Lodge at Sukau for lunch followed by a river cruise to see the proboscis monkeys, birds and other wildlife . Dinner at the Lodge where you stay the night.

Day 13 After breakfast return to Sandakan and proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary to witness the feeding and rehabilitation programme then return to Sandakan for lunch followed by city tour and departure to airport for flight back to Kota Kinabalu. Overnight Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Hotel on bed/breakfast basis

Day 14 Depart for flight to Kuala Lumpur and onward connection to U.K. or take flight to Langkawi for a few days lapping up one of their fantastic beaches.

Day 15 Arrive U.K.
