Documents required for a wedding in Malaysia
To get married in Malaysia you need to spend a minimum of 7-10 days in Malaysia. The exact formalities/legal documents required will be advised at the time of enquiry. However as a guide line for civil wedding ceremonies in Malaysia photo copies of the following will be required:
- Birth certificate showing names of both parents
- Valid 10 year passport for both bride and groom
- Four recent passport-sized photographs each
- Affidavit to prove your marital status e.g. single/widow/widower/divorced etc.
- Full names, addresses, occupations and religion for both Bride & Groom
- Legal proof if your name has been changed by deed Poll
- If previously married, certified divorce certificate or death certificate of spouse.
